Spring 2025 Chapter Meeting Recap
On May 12th, BVNEMBA members gathered at CraftRoots Brewing for our Spring Chapter Meeting, bringing together over 30 riders, volunteers, and first-time attendees. The chapter voted unanimously to ratify Mike Carvalho as President and Kim Powell as Vice President, following the leadership transition earlier this year.
A vacant At-Large seat will be addressed at the Summer Meeting, with a formal call for candidates coming soon.

Our chapter remains financially strong, with a current balance of $31,000 and just under 25% of the annual budget spent to date. Treasurer Josh Handverger highlighted key investments in First Aid training, chainsaw certification, and equipment. Members were reminded to begin thinking ahead to fall donation nominations, which follow our annual giving policy.
Trail updates showed strong momentum across the region. New lines like “Vacation Land,” “Power Line,” and “B-Line” are now open at Vietnam, while youth-led projects are underway in Natick. Millbury, West Hill Dam, and Callahan State Park all reported progress despite a wet spring. Ride Area Representatives (RaRs) are now active in 17 zones, serving as key liaisons for land management, trail maintenance, and ride planning.
Recent wins include a successful First Aid certification for 20 members, the Beginning Bridges bike donation event, and continued planning for Trail School and the Best Dam Ride. The Spring Social was canceled due to weather, with an eye toward rescheduling in April or May 2026. The Blackstone Patch Ride Series will return this summer.
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, or contributed to the discussion. From new riders to longtime leaders, your presence shapes the future of BVNEMBA. Want to get more involved?
